put simply you can but its easier to take the engine out.

im about to do mine but im taking my engine out as its a good excuse to do a load of other bits like re-shelling the crank and new seals etc.

you live up the road from me so ill give you some advise if you get a garage to do it chose very carefully, hence why im doing mine myself now.

as above it can be done but a better job can be done out the car. often its quicker by the time youve pissed about in cramp confinded spaces with rusty bolts. the passenger side to my mind looks easy but the drivers side.........

Driver side: If you have the hands of a 6 year old and live a mile from your church :censored::surrender:useing lots of penertrene oil and have 7 day weekends of time it can be done if you are prepaird to loose some bark of hands and arms. Passenger side is a bit easier to get at still you have to be able to loosen the heat frozen nuts and bolts. Thats y people take the engine out!

Mr Stretch can do it and i would be able to but simply wouldnt as its easier to pull the engine out with alot less hassle when you know how.

i think if my memory serves me right the z centre change the turbo's with the engine's in. but i found its easier taking the engine out.. and do a good serive on it and change all the hoses whilst its out. and what ever else you fancy. timing belt ect
