Hi everyone,

My next major job is a small ICE install. Does anybody have any hints and tips for the false floor? If anyone has a template that would be even better.

Cheers, Rob

Easiest way is to use your boot carpet as a template. Simples :thumbup1:

Just lay it on the MDF(or whatever you are using), draw round it and jigsaw away. TIP: Before you lay it on the MDF, whilst it is in place in the car make a note of any areas it is gappy or tight and allow for this. And remember, you can always take more off. So go a little oversize to start if anything.

Hope that helps.

What are you planning on using? I used 18mm MDF which I covered in acoustic cloth. It was weighty enough to not need securing, particularly as I made sure it was a snug fit. I'll try and find the thread and bump it for you.

The plan was a MDF floor attached to the car somehow, either wedged or bolted. Was gonna mount the amps to this and then a second floor with cut outs for the amps flush with the top of the amps.

Not sure if that makes sense or not haha. Not sure what to do with the sub, I got a very good deal on a JL Audio 15" but I reckon it might be a bit big.

I used the carpet as a rough template, cut it slightly too big and cut the bit that would cover the toolkit off. This allowed the main section to slide in and the cut off piece locks it all in place.
