I have got so many bits to do to the zed at the moment,

New lower suspension,

HiCAS lockout and new arms

Rocker covers

Boot build

Interior swap

Proper polish and detail following my silly use of the tailgate as a shelf!

I did have this list weeks ago but following a weekend about a month or 2 ago where I stuck near on £100 in the car and she was empty by Tuesday morning she went back in the garage and hasn't moved since.

I was genuinely losing my enthusiasm, looking at smaller cheaper toys on ebay and pistonheads to replace her.....

HOWEVER, I just pulled her out the garage for a quick clean and a quick once over with the polisher to remove the scratches in the tailgate and looking back over my shoulder as i went back into the house, I think i have just fallen in love all over again..... well they do say that absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that!! What is it about these bloody cars that make you act against all logic and pragmatism?

I will say this once, Dont you dare sell that zed and move away from the zed scene:nono: One of the best looking 300zx's in the UK and one of the nicest member we have here. :D

They are very hard to walk away from mate even though they are so hard to keep on the road but nothing could ever replace the looks and power you get from a good well sorted 300zx. Keep zedding Pab's:thumbup1:

Nice to see you have your enthusiasm back for the old girl, its because the zed is a passion not just a car lol and i think the current economic climate doesnt help with running such a beast which can stifle the love sometimes. Its like anything really, when you have the wonga everything in life is rosey and nothing else matters.

Get rid of the skip behind it and you can fill her up for a few more months :clown:

yeah petrol is a bitch these days and the zed costs a small fortune to run and it is off putting. But they are so damm nice to look at and drive :cool3:

your zed is a beauty

Zed's looking fantastic mate, I do get what you mean but as has been said there's nothing that can replace a well sorted zed :)

Thanks guys, I just popped out to the petrol station.... £82 later.....

Evo, thanks for the compliment, but i haven't polished her yet... that's how she came out the garage. Due to the hosepipe ban, I was just about to take her to a valet place near me to get her washed before i run the polisher over her, but instead I ended up using about £20 of the petrol i just put in blasting round some country roads.....

I really need to pull my finger out, I have all the bits waiting to be installed and to be honest, I think that with a gentle drop and a nice subtle bootbuild she'll look even nicer... in my humble opinion, I just need to get onto it. Japfest was my deadline, now my deadline is JAE!!!

I wasn't even gonna go to Japfest, but having blasted around today, I feel i should really make the effort, even if she's nowhere near how i want her to be.

Oh and Graham, that "shed/skip" is an absolute lifesaver, I can get nearly 500 miles out of £100 worth of fuel!!!

I think the most telling fact about how these cars get under your skin.... I had a choice of either getting rid of the Zed or cancelling my golf membership... put it this way my clubs are sitting forlornly in the corner of the downstairs loo!!

lmao, mate, she is a stunner, a true fairlady :D

If thats before the wash and polish, well I cant imagine how she must come up.

out of interest, do you use a dual action polisher, or is it all by hand? and what polish do you use?

I have Meguiars snow foam, clay bar, paint cleaning polish, general polish and carnabau Wax, which brings up a mirror finish on black. but I do it all by hand and it takes about 8 hours :(

however, doing it by hand, I had no chance of losing the orange peel effect in the paint :(

Hey Ryan, I use a rotary polisher, there are those who prefer the DA polishers, but i like my rotary.

I do like to finish off with a hand polish and all wax is applied by hand obviously.

Check out the 2 threads i did with regards to polishing the zed and the scoob:

Any more pics of that Ford? Black is the most satisfying colour to polish, but also the most annoying as it never stays clean for more than about a day or so!!

I need to get a rotary polisher I think lol.

all polishing I have done is by hand. and such hard work.

here is more of the ST500. (you asked for it! LMAO)

O, thats longleat, I know the woman who runs the PR department for them, so I always do car meets there, and get free entry for everyone, saying that people will come and buy food and drinks, tour the house and safari park, so would be daft to charge entry to get cars in lol.

When you go as an organised meet, they let you in 45 mins before opening (about 9.15am) so you can get photo shoots outside the house in the no parking zones.

I will arrange another meet there in the summer for Zeds. its like half hour from my house, I got a big enough house if anyone travelling long distance needs somewhere to sleep lol.

also do a few meets at haynes motor museum, once you paid to get in once, keep your receipt, and you can go back unlimited times for 365 days free of charge :P

will do, and you ge some pics of urs up when you have polished it!

mate, if you want somewhere to get to work on her, bring her down the farm, i have most tools here, and space, pit etc
