I own 92TT Jap 56000 miles ish...It runs like a dream

However, as is evident from the forum the auto is a bit suspect. Is it worth the additional cooler/flush/oil upgrade etc at this "late" stage or should I just save up for the inevitable????

Please help....

"this late stage.."

is only dependent on how long it's been in the country, and how often/hard you drive it i guess...

the normal cooling was fine for japan, but now it is in the uk (with speed restrictor off?) then you need the cooling i guess.

go for it now, if nothing else, it will prolong the life a bit longer......

I don't know the reason but I was advised that an oil change in an auto gearbox which is on it's way out can actually speed up the destruction.

Others may have an opinion as to reasons but I'm afraid I don't know.

Incidentally, when my 'box eventually went, I did another 300 (careful) miles with lots of slipping so provided you know where you'll take it, I wouldn't suggest a repair until it's gone.

There is nothing wrong with it yet...just you see so many "autobox failures" on this forum...maybe go for the cooler etc.....

Johnny.....give us some prices mate.
