Hi,

Right, I’ve got a KOYO rad on my car and both the (plastic) top plug and bottom drain plug have seen better days.

I’ve driven myself to the brink of hair removal (by self extraction) looking …..

Has anyone found or know of a place to get replacement parts for these rads.

Or had a similar issue and replaced with suitable alternative parts.

The thread on these plugs (or at least) the top one is about 10mm external diameter but is definitely not an M10.

The guy at the local nut and bolt specialty store said it looked like a British standard thread, so either BSW or BSP…..

Cheers.

Ah, forgot to mention that last week I used the contact option on their website but got no reply…

I'm sure there is something that will do the job just as well that is available over here that will cost about £3....

lol, that cant be right.

I have never used them before so cant really comment.

I have used CZP regularly though. I normally deal with Coz who is a top fella. If you email him he will probably be able to source the drain plug aswell. His postage rates will be far better than that lol. His email is coz@myczp.com

LOL.. and CZP say...

Rubber Seal No Longer Included with Plug

for £12 plus whatever extortionate delivery price they want the washer wouldn't be going over the top.... :)

OHHHHH yes it is. top is DEFFO M10 1.25 thread.

As I have a M10 1.25 set screw in mine. I just used a little PTFE tape to make 100 sure of a pressure tight seal.

I cant tell you about the bottom one as my rad is full of green stuff:w00t:

but Im guessing its the same.

cheers Pete... yeah, i just found this on their site....

Are brand new drain plugs available for my Koyorad All Aluminum Racing Radiator? Where can I purchase one?

Yes. Brand new Koyorad drain plugs (Koyo part# PI1186) can be purchased through the Koyorad retailer who sells Koyorad Race Radiators. For reference, our Koyorad drain plugs are sized M10 x P1.25.

so now it's just finding where to get them....

The guy at the local nut and bolt specialty store said it looked like a British standard thread, so either BSW or BSP…..

If I were you I would find a new "Specialist"....

Meantime just use a bolt. Its one of the most common Nissan/Jap size bolts. I used a short M10 20 set screw.

just got replies from them...

FRSport, about $10 for the part and $25 delivery.... total £35 (about £22)

CZP $12 for the part and $12 delivery.... total £24 (about £15)

aside from that being extortion CZP is by far the best deal.... but i need two and I didn't bother to ask them about that....

Think i'll source them locally, I know i can do a better deal than that, without the risk of customs tax.

found these... a bit long I know but that can be fixed....

Titanium Socket Cap M10 x (1.25mm) x 20mm

£6.12 Inc VAT

£3 delivery

So £15.24 for two…

Also checking with local distributor of KOYO rads...

Yeah, thats the problem with buying small parts from the states. You end up paying for more on shipping than you do on the part. Worthwhile when making a big order though.
