Had it installed yesterday

only getting around 2Mbps to 10Mbps download speed :cursing: shut up Dave, it's still faster than you get :tt2::lol: (just thought I'd pre-empt Car.Mad taking the pee)

I phoned BT only to be told that they are still configuring my line but it will be stable at the expected 40Mbps (or so) tomorrow night. Apparently the line can take upto 48 hours to stabilise.

Did anyone else have this problem?

steams

It can take that log to establish a stable sync with your router/hub

cheers for that mate :sailor:

Let me know how you get on Steams - the BT lads are currenly rolling it out in my village as I type.....

.......and if it's good I'll be signing up to it. Our exchange is about 50 years old and I live at the arse end of the lines.....

Day 3; Service is still crap! I'm getting a regular 3 to 4 Mbps download and a ping of 45. I did briefly hit 11Mbps last night........

So far not impressed :( my old BT bb was better.

how far from the their ATE are you steams ?

dont know what you mean mate. lol

According to there estimate I should be getting 37Mbps. The exchange cab is about 300m from my house but it's less than twenty years old so the copper lines should still be good.

joint enclosure 300m but if the exchange (ate) is to far away it won't help they upgrade to the joint enclosure first normally then you will be on twisted pair to your house unless they pull in new fibre to your house you will always get loss might be worth getting them to ping between exchanges you might get one closer.

The exchanges have different cards fitted at them (TRIB) YOU MIGHT BE ON AN OLD CARD or sharing capacity on the line with a neighbour is very common (JOINT DEPENDANCY)

im on sky BB and getting a nice 16Mbps constantly regardless of time of day.

Also BT's infinity advert was banned as it was miss leading to customers, they were advertising the speed of sharing But were pointing out Upload speed not download lol

Watch out for these words UPTO that's there get out on providing the speed on the connection

Exactly - and all ISPs say that, not just BT.....!!

I have had no problems with BT so far, after ditching TalkTalk last year - now that was a cowboy outfit for sure!! BT is probably the best I can get in my area at present as a lot of my neighbours have moved over to them and they all say how much better BT is compared to their last ISP.
