im trying to find some of the little metal adaptor brackets that fit inside old light switch boxs for a woman i done a job for any1 know where i can get them or even what they are called lol needing 3 of them

Think I no what you mean are you talking about the bit on either side of the box that the 3.5mm countersunk screw goes into,you may have a problem as a lot of them you can't replace unless you swap the whole box.

not sure what you mean del? how old are these light switches? bakelite?

they are as weldersparx says the boxs are on the old conduit system iv used them alot just never had to replace the part il draw one up to show what i mean

Got loads of old boxes in the garage take a photo might be able to match for you that would save loads of grief

had briefly spoken but wasnt easy to describe to the guy was hoping someone knew the actual name for them lol

to be honest its not even a job i was there to do i was wiring in extra lighting just trying to help them out as they couldnt find them. all the guys i work with know what they are but no one knew the name for them lol

Two choices swap the box will be a nightmare because it's on tube or get screw in extension lugs 3.5mm you will have to tap the box out with a tap in the position that that the front plate screws line up with.

they have already decorated so the boxs have to stay looked at tapping them out today but the new screws actually sit outside the old box. its not a job as i am doing as i said im only trying to help them out if i cant find them i cant find them lol

try these mount one inside and one out if using plastic shouldn't short out the switch when screwed back
