Right, bit of a weird one if anyone has any suggestions.

I work for a small company, Saturday support is rotar'd basically as I live so far from the office I work from home via RDP to our win2k8 server basic but it suits us. Normally works a treat, however today I cant connect to it.

I've had someone pop into the office (on their way to a funeral oops) and restart the server and the router I have also restared my machine and router but still no avail.

Biggest issue is that I need it for our remote access software to help customers as we only have licenses for it to be used through the server!

In the mean time, Ive had someone log into the server, and use our remote access software to get back to my machine and reverse the screen so I've basically tricked it into showing my a session on our server...

Has anyone any ideas as to why it wont work the normal way?

First off do a basic check and make sure your external IP on the server hasnt changed !

Use a site like : http://www.whatismyip.com from the server to see.

Next check see if the rdp ports are actually open

Use this site to check for port 3389 on the server : http://www.canyouseeme.org/

Just type in the Port to check; again do this from the server.
