to be honest bud thats about the going rate for mapping ......make sure they are insured and will cover damages if mapped incorrectly ..ive seen engines destroyed with DET being to lean while being mapped on the rollers.....and engines destroyed with bore wash by overfuelling "to be on the safe side" ..its a fine art and one with risks attached if your going for silly high power without supporting mods......

sounds about right in my eyes

You hear with your eyes? Coooooool!

How do you see?

does anyone have any experience on amd tunning in west thurrock, lakeside.

Be sure you know the difference about a remap and a mapping session, very different both in cost and requirment.

A remap or chip change / upgrade is a straight forward job with little or no requirement for a rolling road session and will give good results from a mildly tuned engine and will cost around a little over £200.

A mapping session on the other hand is best for any hybrid engine mods and takes the collection of after market parts that have been fitted and gets them working together as best as possible , the map is saved, burnt on to a chip and can be always modified again with any extra changes, cost of that is as you have been quoted.

Jeff TT

Why do you think you need mapping matey? as Jeff said a generic chip is fine in most cases unless you have some serious mods ?

I need remap because I got pe1420 turbos 555cc and a lot more. there is no point to have this all mods but just have chip. my plans is to run around 18-20psi ,450bhp or even more.

thats a good thinking mate cheers I will remember this lol

As i said in your other thread last week with teh spec below you have, a chip is the quickest and cheapest option and entirely suitable.

A mapping session yes will get you a bit more but 500 odd quids worth, i don't think so.

John Dixon has a few variations of his 555 chips to reflect the varying types of turbo's, but with a completly stock engine and the usual bolt on parts you have your not really different to many others. It's your money but for mapping you won't get much cheaper than you have already quoted.

Oh and personally as your block is stock and you have no idea if it's ever detted in it's past history, i wouldn't run 20 psi, IMO that is.

555cc injectors

Power enterprise turbo kit

Hks intercooler

2,5 inch elbows with 2.5 inch exhaust

Stock engine with 63k mileage

Rps clutch

Light weight crank pulley

Plus other small bits.

I would not go to AMD for one they are a German specialist and a few pals have walked away not pleased with the work and care taken out on there cars. Next door is TDI who are a Japanese specialists. The cars they work on are unreal. Check there site out.

on stock internals as Smithy said going anywhere near 20 psi is going to end in a bang and big one IMO

the rods should be fine but you should really be looking at forged pistons if you want a relaible 400+rwbhp

i have forged bottem end and race bearings stronger arp bolts stage 1 cams , metal head gaskets and i know my engine is sound

but i will be well happy if i get anywhere near 400 rwbhp when its all ran in ......if i want more i will be having a mapping session

and probably taking it down to Jimmer to fit a stand alone emerald ecu and have it mapped .........but for now im just going to enjoy it as it is

did you upgrade your brakes i cant remember you spec buddy ??

I knows if i will be running this power engine not ganna last long, my plans in the future is if me engine dies put z1rebuild kit. But for know i will enjoy stock engine and will se how its goes.

Or now i dont have bigger brakes i can just buy evrything in one time. I will buy ones little bit later on.

I saw quit cheap deal. 345 mm brakes disk which fits on stock calibers. My mate have 315mm disk and he said is way more better so. So what you think about just a bigger brake disks?

So you wanna pay around 500 bucks knowing it could go bang any time even at the rollers, rebuild it and no doubt us ethe chance to change other performance parts and poss need mapping again?

Just pay a 100 quid max for the right chip and enjoy it for as long as you can.

smithy

I've used steve before. We had him travel up here and mine was mis-firing so he turned the power right down etc.

Was okay but I'd be careful of paying more than you should for time on dyno as with mine he had his lunch and stuff while my car was sat doing nothing but I had to pay the garage for my time the car was sat there!

Well a lot of you guys saying the true about remapping. Question is it worth now do remap or just put a chip.

I got chip now from Andy ,he made chip work for my 555cc injection and about 14psi of boost. But my new turbos can run more power. Before my project car was running 1.2bar with stock injectors and pe1420 turbos its been remaped i think guy before said its running around 370-380bhp. So now i got 555cc to get more fuel and power but i have to run the same 18psi.

So is it possible do chip to work with 555cc injectors and hold 1.2bar?

What maximum bhp i can do with my mods with a chip?

So it ran 1.2 bar on stock injectors? if so that's nuts!

The chip won't limit the boost to 14psi and no more, how much you run is up to you.

I would expect the chip was done based on 555's running around 14psi.

You do have a boost controller don't you?? assuming you do, that's where your boost level is determined.

I know one guy is running 430bhp on stock engine and stock injectors. And its enoght fuel. But anyway

Ok i got 555cc injectora and chip but does it will give enoght fuel if i will run 18psi of boost???

I got bltz boost controller. I am try to learn how to use. What does boost GAIN is? I can set from 0 to 100 what does this do?

Gain is just how quick the car makes boost, set the limit for your boost first, then dial in the gain bit by bit until your happy at what speed it is hitting boost.

Not that am an expert at these but would expect a gain of near 50

smithy

Just be a bit careful with the gain as too much can cause boost spikes which will cause det and damage as smithy says increase it slowly I'm running a blitz and I've got the gain set at 30 and boost on 14 psi it comes on strong but doesn't spike

Also could turn the limiter on and the warning buzzer I've got the buzzer set about .4 psi lower than the limiter which gives you a bit of leway

I need to read instruction to learn how to do setting lol but if psi is higher the gain is still need to be around 30? and how I will fill boost spikes ? I know more gain is better but when I should know that i got enough gain?
