I have just been told that i will need to upgrade my brakes as i am running about 350bhp to Tarrox 6 potts then i will need to change my rimms to 18" to accomodate, is there not a more intermediate upgrade i can go to from standard brakes

Upgraded Discs and pads with braided lines and a decent fluid will make a big difference compared to stock setup. In my opinion this is fine upto around 400 BHP but that is my opinion. Just using decent pads over stock items provides a vast improvement. I am currently using EBC greenstuff and the difference is very noticable.

Tim,

I and serval other 300 owners are also running a good 400+ bhp without all these brake mods as they are not always necessory. I was also looking at larger discs/calipers, but was convinced to try Porterfield R4S carbon fiber brake pads. I also, fitted some Porterfield heat-treated X-drilled front rotors, but this was probably not necessory. These pads are absolutly amazing, the stopping power, especially once they've heated up a little (say a 20mph decrease in speed) has to be felt to believe.

Have a look at http://www.porterfieldbrakes.com/

The pads come to about $100 for the front and $90 for the rear... and they are already run-in... so you can use them almost instantly. + delivery + vat + duty!

Regards,

Jez.

BTW - I'm in High Wycombe, so if you are near, come and see for yourself. Hey Steve, wanna do a 6 pot vs porterfield on Sat!
