Okay posted about steering being heavy, car sluggish, gear changes erratic and power light coming on now and again even without driving hard...have been told it points to either speed sensor or MPH conversion ( mine is a 90 TT Jap import with conversion 180mph clock)...now then who supplies and fits these and Im in the East Midlands area and how much? Is there a way to test it and is there any spec info/pics on the plugs for speed sensor or conversion kit anywhere so I kno what to look for. Say this cos the garage guy who fitted my new rack bushes said there was a wire hanging loose under the car and he couldnt see where it went..since then steering has been erratic and heavy and car kinda crap!

Mine did exactly the same and it was speedo converer. Remove clocks and you will see a little box with 4 wires connected to the back of the clocks or joined into the harness that plugs into the clocks. When you remove it remember to rejoin the speed sensor wire which will have been cut and connected into the converter.

If your speedo converter is a flat piece of shrinkwraped black rubber then it is a dodgy one, The Z centre has stopped selling that type now as too many were failing
