been trawling recently, just being nosey as we all do, and i dunno about the rest of you but ive noticed a severve reduction in the amount of 1000-1500 zeds.

infact to find a tt under 1k now seems to require buying one someones broken. and the average price for a half decent example is around 3.5 to 4 at present. it may be premarture, and also you have to take into account are these cars selling, blah blah.

but i think what we are seeing a slight rise in zed prices.

guess we shall have to keep watching this space, but it does have to happen at some point the dross will all get scrapped and the quality will shine through with a higher price :)

only desirable to a select few

Theones being broken are mostly rotten sheds and only the best will servive so the prices can only go one way. I would say the prices are going up but not as many people have spare cash anymore to buy a weekend toy.

I'm inclined to agree there too - although a few good Zeds are being broken right now (eg ZX-TT's car) just because they aren't selling. Hopefully the more rough examples that disappear in this way will mean fewer sheds on FleaBay to drag down the price of the remaining good ones; you only have to look at the prices of old 1970s and 1980s Fords now.....

......in the early 1990s they were worth pennies because there were so many rust buckets around. Now they've all rotted away leaving only the good ones (loved and maintained by enthusiasts), look at the prices for an early XR3i, XR4i, Capri etc. And the Mk1 and Mk2 RS cars command serious money now; whereas when I was about 20 you could pick one up for sweet wrappers!!!

I'm under no illusion that my ZX is suddenly going to appreciate of course - and I didn't buy it for that - but values should stabilise; with good examples once again able to command a premium. In time. But as Dave says, in the current climate not many folks an afford another car for a weekend toy, least of all one with such a voracious appetite for petrol when it's nearly £1.50 a litre!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
