Engine Clicking noise

I have had an intermittent (sp) wink.gif clicking noise from my engine. It only happens at low revs, between idle and 1500 revs, Over that it doesnt happen.

Its not a tappet noise, its deeper on is only 1 thing making a noise, not lots of tappets.

I was wondering, could a worn out injector make that noise?

If its the noise i think i heard, then its more of a low erm pong/ping noise, no seriously, it has a slight tone to it, rather than a straight forward click although the click is there, it has undertones of a toneful plink/ping/pong type noise, it kind of goes audible quickly then dies away in like 6 or so rapid(ish) noises...Ive only heard it from outside the car though...

If that isnt the sound then i apologise and shall worry you more! hehehe wink.gif

Now that ive made myself sound like a complete twat, ill go! heheh, im only trying to describe what I have heard

LMFAO!!!! biggrin.gif

trying to describe a noise is great isnt it!?!? biggrin.gif

I actually get customers phoning me at work, holding the phone to their car and asking me what the noise could be!!!!

I know the stock oil gauge is crap, but roughly how much oilpressure do you have at idle ?

  • Author

My oil gauge is terrible. It will work for a while then shoot to below 0.

Usually it reads about 30 PSI, but sometimes is reads 0

I will take note of if its reading 0 or 30 next time I hear it.
