Was the Jun 300zx top speed recorded at the 1 mile point or beyond it?

233+mph at the 1 mile marker and almost 200mph at the 1/2 mile marker on 'the practice run' is pretty tasty

and if nothing else, it may hold the record for the fastest drift!!

'The Omega hit a dip in the runway past the mile marker which caused it to bounce. Combined with the effect of the parachute, the force was enough to lift the rear wheels of the Omega off the ground. When the car rebounded, it lost control, sliding more than 90 degrees sideways'.

Impressive.....

.....but one of us simply had to say that.....:innocent:

Wow bet he had to change his pants after the last run

I'll say mate - he sure held on to it though; that's some good driving!!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Impressi that's some good driving!!!

It's interesting that you say that because I've been putting that case forward over on Driftworks, because as far as I can see the guy does quite clearly demonstrate some instinctive and skillful driving, but they're adament that the guy show's no skill whatsoever???

To put it into perspective, I'm sure that the boss man of AMS didn't just choose any old monkey off the street to go drive his companies uber $ technical master piece at 200+mph

credit where credit's due I say....although he does need to keep his eyes peeled for pot holes and bumps in the future!

i think its amazing that it takes 1.5m to reach 190 then another 1.5 mile to add on roughly 40-45mph

still very impressive

hers another good vid of a gtr good facial expressians i thinks its the heads of the varios parts departments

On Saturday's one and only pass the Omega hit the 1/2 mile marker at 197mph and passed the 1 mile marker at 233.1mph!

I'm not sure of the physics exactly but I do remember reading somewhere about the air density increase (or something like that) at over 200mph

I think it was described along the lines of:

100mph = driving through air

200mph+ = driving through custard

and downforce increases etc relative to increased speed/required power to continue to accelerate

*again don't quote me on this but I think that's how it was explained
