Not sure if this is normal,

but when I depress the clutch pedal there is about 1" of loose travel before I feel any kind of resistance.

I may be imagining this but it seems to feel a tad stronger to depress.

Clutch still works though.

possible "egging" of the hole where the pin goes through. Try and get your head under there with a torch and see where the pin is, if you then give the pedal a bit of a wiggle up and down, you may see that this is causing the first inch or so of movement is caused by this?

You are getting exceptional well knowledgable young man!! the hole the clevis pin goes through does in fact enlarge over time and this cannot be taken in to account for when setting the clutch travel arm settings as the wear is both forward and backwards.

Later zeds were fitted with an insert to prevent this, however the only real effective measure other than a new pedal arm is to remove the arm, weld the hole closed and redrill it, the insert is available when I last checked so preventing it happening again.

I now know what you meen Steams!!

It was bad enough just getting the photo let alone working under there.

That said, Am I looking at the pin in question or will it be the pivot point? God knows where that is!

Took some dash panels off and managed to press the pedal while at the same time feeling for any movement.

Yes, there is about a 1/4" of pedal movement due to possible egging as you say Pablito,

but the majority of the movement can be felt at the threaded coupling with regards to shaft moving into the rubber gaiter quite a bit before meeting any Resistance.

Clutch adjustment needed?
