I suspect this would not have made the news had the government not made the daft statement about jerry cans a couple of days back.

Got to feel sorry for her,but decanting petrol in the same room as a working cooker??

I do feel sorry for her - for she is clearly deranged!! There's a good reason you get the big signs in fuel stations warning you not to smoke whilst on the forecourt; so why would handling petrol near a cooker in operation be any less dangerous???

Sorry if I sound harsh - I don't mean to offend - but please. It's for the benefit of people like her that bags of peanuts have to be labled "Allergy advice - may contain nuts!!"

And Andy is right - it has been a slow week for news so

1) why doesn't the Government drop a complete b0ll0k and drum up some imaginery fuel crisis (not to mention the extra revenue it will bring) to get Joe Idiot running around in a panic trying to get some petrol; and then

2) Oooh look, Jane Idiot has almost toasted herself pouring petrol next to a cooker....

......You couldn't make it up!! In the words of Littlejohn signing off - "Mind how you go!!"

Richard:oops:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

This fuel hysteria is a joke !! ive never seen so many idiots in my life panic buying ffs,Sales of jerry cans are up 400%.These morons will be the first to complain when food runs out as the trucks that deliver to supermarkets have no fuel.A politician makes a stupid comment and the country goes into meltdown. The tanker drivers have voted for action but give a weeks notice so whats the fuss all about :cursing:

Reading that article made me smile..

Being an ex Paramedic, I've seen it first hand, you wouldn't believe what people will do!!!!!!!

Tbh i think some of the comments are a bit harsh.

The women was obviously was in a bit of a rush to help her daughter who was stuck without fuel because of all the dicks, She obviously was thinking of her daughter and wanted to sort her out asap if she was on a motorway or main road or whatever.

she might of been worrying and the last thing on her mind would of been vapors if she was rushing. Im pritty sure she is old enough to know petrol is flamable

Now her life is pritty much fooked and all she wanted to do was help. all her daughter will now think that its all her fault.

Its a simple accident and accidents happen to us all when your mind is on something else :(

I agree, everybody puts their daft head on once in a while it's just unfortunate that this woman came a cropper because of it

I feel a claim coming on she's probably got the no win no fee vulchers circling already,

I reckon the problem is petrol is so readily available that people forget just how volatile it really is, I read somewhere that most fires caused on petrol forecourts aren't caused by phones or smoking but by static electrisity discharging from you to the cars bodywork as you fill the tank.

Moral of the story get a leather interior and you have less chance of being bunt to death or at least that's 1 more excuse to tell the Mrs when she asks why you just spent more on a leather re-trim than on the rent this month lol
