why are u changing it...does it work ok as is...also i dont know but if your changing to a uk loom you may have to change the ecu aswell..again i dont know about that one but im guessing the us ecu is programd differently for emissions so it might throw some codes..

as boldy said im pretty sure they are more or less identical apart from the extended area for the left hand drive. i think from memory of what i was redaing there are one or two connections not required that would have been used in the us market for la emmission controls.

Boldy, cheers for the link mate, really helpful. In your opinion is it a simple job to do? Electrics I tend to stray from usually haha.

Z32Bolt, you Gaz and phil need to come over and give me a hand haha

It,s an easy enough job bud , i,d label all the connectors and photograph how and where the wiring runs around the engine and bay to give you some references when fitting the new one , at least if you compare the old labelled loom to the new loom you can see if there are any spare connectors that won,t be used as well as sussing out any that might be overlength , i,d then still mark the new loom with the corresponding marks as the old and your piccys should tell you how it goes back in .HTH

Oh and make sure the blue connector,s is sitting correctly in the ECU and don,t overtighten it , that can cause some strange problems !

i've heard its one of the best things you can do to the z as after all the original loom has been in there a while. there should be a noticeable difference. mikey did his ,he was more than pleased with the results

Spoke to Gaz the other day, said he was busy, told me his news, not good.

Easter weekend ain't good for me, the wife is due then haha. May crack the loom tomorrow or next weekend.

Got a lot of work to do to it before JapFest mate.

The engine part of the loom is a case of carefully disconnecting and pealing back unit all is undone, however where the loom goes through the bulhead is a different matter, there is a bracket/ retainer that must be undone from inside and the heater/air con unit needs removing for this.

Cheers Jeff, the link boldy posted up has some pics of the bracket and what to remove. Feeling a lot more confident about it now.

A few pics of when I changed a loom a few weeks back.
