I need a paint to paint a rusty log burning stove with. None of the Hammerite products fit the bill unless I go back to bare metal which i'd rather avoid.

The trouble with heat proof paint is that its only heat proof to a certain heat so I dont think it would last, You might have to enamal it mate.

you need a high Temp enamel Paint

the type used on Cookers

Give it rub over with some old engine oil.

Rustoleum do a high temp stove paint - I've used it on a paraffin heater chimney. I just took off the loose rust and sprayed it - obviously won't look perfect, but I'm pretty sure it had a crinkle finish so hid a lot of it. Other than that, just wire brush the stove and smother it in stove black...
