I have now cut away my rear arches and now i have big holes. The rear arches were starting to blister so i thought oh ohhhhh here we go all the sills will be on the way out.

So i cut upto the curve in the metal to allow for my wheels and fatter tyres to be spaced for the new wide arches. I was surprised how little rust there was. It was pritty much just on the lip. So i got my Lamp to have a look down and all around the sills.

Surprise surprise they was not a single bit of rust anywhere. it was just like a brand new car so i am well chuffed. Took out the rear panel inside the car and took out the seatbelts so i can see from the other side and again Nothing

So i got my spray waxoyl and did both sides. its proper gunked up in there now and not a single bit of bare metal anywhere. I have also got the brush on stuff which is really thick. got it in my hand and spred it from the inside all around the drain points. and forced it into all the folds and welds So my car should now pritty much live forever.

Really feels like i have got somewhere today and im really pleased. proper over the moon

Will post some pics up later once becks downloads them

Same kit i have on now. I dont think anyone has seen my rear bumper fitted and the custom arches i have finished. Then im going to to smooth all the skirts door. rear bumper and the arches so it will be a whole new cleaner look with fat tyres :)

Its a shame that the lip/fold rusted. the bubbles came threw about 2 weeks after my spray job typical for me :( as the car would of been finished but it will come back bigger and better.

Im amazed how everthing else looked new

Here we go

First off cover all the cars so i dont get metal shards melting into the body work.

Cut along the line so it gave me about an 1" gap and hammered it down to save me going under the car to grind.

Then i tidied up the line ready for my mate to weld it up

Then just pumped waxoyl everywhere, I took these with my hand inside the sill. you can see the Tbar pipe.

Thats it for now. Once the hole is welded up i will then get inside and give everything another coat :)

Ive kept it well away from the area we are welding so we should be ok, i hope. youve put doubt in my head now. Its being mig welded and its only going to be a seem weld.

Once done from the inside i can spray waxoyl ontop of the weld. Booked in this saturday so some of the vapors should of gone aswell.

Did the passenger side yesterday after work and there was zero rust. not a single microscopic bit

From a rust perspective Guys, I was recommended Bilthamber by the bearded brigade when I was renovating the Porsche. Its absolutely stuff.....

All done now guys. all welded together and undersealed and looking good.

Oh yeah and we had a Massive fire between the skins. we didnt panic honestly. Flames every where. rear seatbelt is all melted as is the tbar drain pipe and the paint has blisterd on the panel. it was soooo hot we couldnt touch the panel.

we did the other side perfectly, I took the seatbelt holder out so i could see inside and eveytime i got a flame i blew it out with the air line so happy days. only cost me £20

i bet it was panic stations lol, just aswell ya didnt go in for ya dinner, might have been a whole lot worse
