Hey guys, been a while since i've posted had my head in the car and various other things....

Here a bit of an update on my ZX...

Some may be familiar with a sileighty/sil80 ... which is a s13 silvia front on a 180sx/240sx. problem is i never like the rears of those cars, nor the rear of the s13 itself... so what to do what to do...

So i have gone with silvia s13 + 300zx/fairlady = Silady.

The idea has as i expected recieved mixed/abusive .... comment on a facebook zx page.

Ahhh well heres some pictures anyway.

(only just sat there still have ALOT to do)

also how are you gonna get it to fit..are you going to chop the slam panel off and weld it on to the zed front end

  • Author

Nope the 2 chassis designs are too different everything forward of the strut tower is different on the zx... so overything strut tower forward except the chassis rails will now be s13 gear.

ah ok..didnt think they would mate together to easily..i maybe drunk here but if your keeping the zed chassis legs then you could chop the s clip and weld it on ..again im drunk and i cant get my head round how your goona fit it...but

cudos again for doing this..cant wait to see it finnished

Almost all of that red part (s13front) will be going on, just need to trimm off the s13 strut tower pieces then the whole lot goes down a few inches.

ahh ok i kinda understand now..

what made you think of doing this?..of all the coversions this will really look the mutts nutts

just likes the sil80 swaps but didnt like the rears and i already had the zx here, kinda felt the zx front was a bit too placid for her rear end once i had bodykit wheels lowered etc... and i wanted something different, the s13's lines will flow the best i was tempted to go s15 silvia but i decided i didn't want it to look that modern.

My mate just suprised me with this photoshop, front will look bigger i real life but ya get the idea :D

I finally got into photoshop using the same images my friend used above, ended up with how i imagine it being... took me a couple of hours though.

It'll work, but I think 'flush to the ground' straight URAS drift style skirts and rear bumper would be needed

just my opinion of course

  • Author

Yeah thats a tricky one i'm trying to pick which bumper currently, i really arn't a fan of the bellbottom/flare bodykits, was tempted to be a bit more subtle and go with a "supermade" kit... as its the only one that doesn't flare...

Was going to use these front and sides possibly, reckon the zx could pull it off?

My concern is it will be a bit too flashy for the ZX... she will lose all elegance.

Depends what you want to achieve I suppose bud, though if you're putting an S body front on a Z32 you're throwing away the rule book anyway...

it could still be elegant just not in a boring same/same kind of way

Apologies zedders, had alot of rain here and ive had to change certifier, alot of legality issues surrounding crumple zones of the car etc, but it looks like i have the go ahead now and the right way to do it, looks like i will have to make some new wheel tubs from scratch too.

Ahh well, stay tuned.

i love the sileightys, and can't wait to see this,

whats your plans for the rear? when i had my old s13 always wanted a spoiler like this one

Hmm that could work, looks like a rocket bunny spoiler.

You could have done a cut and shut zx back and 3000gt front:biggrin:

What was nasty was the only zx swap i have seen going around and he had put a 350z front on a 300zx.... it was then i went nahhh there has to be a Z in existance with a decent swap.... probably helps i'm mad as a hatter though.

I'd really rather not and i don't think the old man would be too happy either.
