My car detonates at WOT but seems to be from drivers side.....

 

If this is caused by underfuelling at WOT how do I rectify this?

It usually is only 1 cylinder that detonates, so yes, it can be sided.

Agreed. Mine seemed to have been detting on cyl 6 the worst, although 5 of the spark plugs were massively burned apart. The detting bit hole off a valve and the piece hit the piston and became pounded into the ring.

Its poss underfuelling I have hybrid turbos.........blitz realise TT exhaust...HKS induction.........

 

Whatever next????

I would look at www.twinturbo.nets tech section first, the bit on detination then do the ecu error code check, also check the o2 sensor (which effects the fueling), similar test.

 

Also high on my list would be to check the engine ECU temp sensor, not related to the temp shown in your dash. And check the ignition timing is not over 15deg etc.

ECU reading 5 5 (think this means all is well according to ecu)

Therefore looks like O2 sensors OK.....(I think!!!!)

 

Timing checked at 14 TDC......is this ok??

 

Running out of my limted ideas.....anymore suggestions???

What boost you running Sub? do you have standard or upgraded injectors?

Standard injrctors.......and standard boost from what I can gather..

Timing at 14 is okay, 15 is the standard.

hmmm, you haven't got bigger or Hybrid turbos have u? As upgraded turbos will flow more air at the same boost as standard turbos therefore making you run leaner at WOT therefore more chance of DETTING
