my mrs corsa has a fubared EGR valve, any ideas on where it is, and if i can just blank it off or not? its a 98 1.6

under the upper tract of the inlet manifold, on the right as you look at the engine from the front.iirc you need to remove the inlet tract and the expansion tank for the coolant.often a good clean out with an aerosol carb cleaner will sort it out, as the valve get gummed up especially if the car does a lot of short stop/start journeys and is a common fault on vauxhalls.Failing that it can be blanked off, have a look on migweb or vauxhallownersnetwork and you are bound to find a 'how to'.hope this helps :)

I had a similar problem only this was an 03 reg corsa. EGR fault kept coming on, after a clean with carb cleaner and the connecting tubes it never came back and been good for 2 years!
