You wont fit an N/A speedo sensor in the TT box, you will have to calibrate your clock. Or it may be possible to fit the cogs of the N/A sensor to the TT one, Jeff may be the best person to ask.

the difference in the senders is the size of the cog on the end. changing the cog wont help the big cog wont fit in the small hole and the small cog wont touch the sides in the big hole.

when i put a TT gearbox in my NA the speedo was a considerable amount out. I talked with Jef at teh time, they were puzzling over the same thing and were suggesting a relocation bracket so the NA cog would sit over to one side and touch the next cog.

i wasnt sure tis would work so i bought a variable speedo adjuster,

easy to fit: fitted it where my mph /kmph converter went, drive along with a sat nav, look up in manual provided actual speed and speedo speed and choose the correct setting

From the follwoing aticle:

The speed sensor gear in the transmission is different, different size for NA and TT because of

the different ratios in the diff. So if you are using a NA diff you need a NA speed sensor gear.

The speed sensor is different auto and 5 sp also.

strange they say that as when i tried it the na speed sensor didnt work in the TT box

The speedo does have two adjuster pots on it, I calibrated my speedo by adjusting them, you have to melt two holes in the casing and put a small screwdriver in there but it means you can adjust while driving along :-)

could just move the needle and set it with GPS .. ?

Recommend you don't do that unless you set it to absolute zero first, not where it rests on the pin as it falls further then that. It's so easy to damage these clock by removing the needles!

moving the needle wont help as it is a percentage wrong not a fixed amount wrong

what hellrazer suggests is good for the earlier cars but doesnt work on the later cars from 94/95 onwards as the speedo design changed

got another Q for the Guys thats done the conversion

Just taken me 3 hrs to get the hole lot off ..

the 2 bolts i had a problem with was the ones that hold the Hicas on

other than that all was fine ..

i dropped the diff with subframe togeather

all my new subframe/diff/arms/hubs have been painted up and ready to fit

the Drive shafts ... i Have both half's of the N/A drive shaft

Will the Rear part of the drive shaft Mate up to the TT front center drive shaft ?

and is the NA diff a limited slip one ?

and all so How do you fill it with oil ?

Cheers

u mean font half of the drive shaft ... no diff right ?

doh what a thick bstard I'm tired ok  i meant front half of prop. you definately need the front half of the diff or the oil will pour out and there will be nowhere for the prop to mount lol.
