Hey, Nuke 'Em - do NOT read this page...

http://www.junauto.co.jp/democar/jb-z32/index.html?en

That's it, boys and girls - game over. Jun / Blitz got 1000ps out of a Z eleven years ago and the speed record hasn't been bettered yet.

(not even by the Supras, Evos, Skylines and other fine machines they keep throwing money at)

Zeds really are quite good, aren't they biggrin.gif

Yes. World record for Front Engine, Rear Wheel Drive car!!!!

And the crank shaft they used was the stock one too.

The Supra did get close though. But no Cigar wink.gif

1000ps....whats that work out to in good old horses?

Be nice to know the performance figures....0 - 60, 0 - 100, standing quarter ec.

Anyone know what happened to the car?

JUN are the same guys that have got 1,000 BHP out of the Skyline.

I used to know that. But can only remember that ps = pferdestärke which is German for horsepower. It's a DIN measurement. I just did a search and found this

http://www.superkart.com.au/Power%20Calc%202%20(1).xls

written by somone called nico (they get everywhere!)

If this is correct 1hp = 1.0136ps = 74.6w or

1ps = 98.66hp = 73.6w. Can anyone confirm?

And checking the Jun link, it seems that they got 1,200ps out of a Supra last year but it still wasn't quicker than an eleven year old Z.

Gio, that's pretty damn close.

It's just a bit less than 1hp, when you got a 1000 of them 14 isn't making much difference is it. smile.gif

That is supperb but I feel better knowing that it also has a fucked handbrake.

U can see how they've made all those extra hp. If u look closely you can just see a set of clear side repeaters...

Ok Gio, I'm drooling....oh for a little more money...I could have had that rebuild on mine. Yummy but mine back on the road will just have to do. Nice looking car, so much nicer than the Supra et al.

Hey Smithy - the clear repeaters you sold me don't get me the same power increase. Can I ship you the old ones back in return for a set of these power repeaters? (Speedholes or not, don't mind).

John - yeh, me too. Another thing (along with the Z32 collection) so spend my pools money on.

Still, it's a shame your parents didn't get your middle name quite right. You should have been JUN then you could have had that car!

BTW, maybe JUN 300zx uses parachutes. Now there's a thought..........

I only use the brakes so I can accelerate all over again.

Just shows 300's are superior to Skylines when it comes to performance at the limit.

jeez
