I think it depends what they fit but they pretty much tell everything as far as im aware. I did see a programme a while ago about Mcdonalds parking tickets and the only way a company got out of the tickets is because of the traker on the van showed it was not in the car park but was at its next job and they showed a print out with times, speed, location and even engine running or off! No more sneaking off to the pub early!!!

Knowin my boss he,ll have the one wi all the bells and whistles .Who passed wind ,wind velocity and noise levels in decibels to**er

we had them fitted to all our work van transits. poxy things, show where you are, where you have been, show top speed, average speed, when you started work and when you got home.

No more private plumbing jobs.

But on a good note, one of our guys got a speeding ticket from a mobile van, that said he had been doing 36 on a 30 road, but doing a search on the tracker software we could pin point the route he had taken and the road were caught, tracker showed at no point did he drive over 27 mph. submitted it as evidence to court, and the case was dropped.

On transits they usually put the gubbins and chip in the drivers air vent, not saying this blocks the signal, but if you wrap the box in tin foil lots of it., showed our gas man was 252 miles off the coast of natal, south africa in the middle of the ocean. when in reality he was at a house in worthing.

I use the Trafficmaster system on all of our vehicle fleet - it's pretty good!!

The service supervisor loves it because whenever a lift breakdown comes in, she can see at a glance which engineer is nearest......

.....oh, and I did used it to "spot check" the engineers' timesheets and, as expected, everyone is pulling their weight now!!

I have all of my vans fitted with a tracker. I can understand your view, but as an employer they are important.

If a van gets pinched, we could possibly loose a lot of expensive equipment.

Anyhoos, you shouldnt be sittin at McDonalds for 2hrs - get some work done lol

Not to mention the insurance saving - that alone more than covers the annual subscription for me......

......plus I have also paid for the Smart Nav part as well; which gives all the guys a live sat nav service with traffic updates. They did all have a little gripe about the tracker initially, but they've had it 4 years now and no-one is bothered anymore.
