Spoiler or no spoiler?

Hi all i just fitted my Carbon rear hatch.

I just cant decide what to do and looking for some ideas or suggestions in what spoiler to go for.

I quite like the non spoiler look but for this build i think the car should have one...But what one? Any ideas?

The Bomex rear skirt isnt fitted and im going to have the A piller and tops of the doors painted black but here is a few pics to go on.

Thanks Dan

I would stick with none for now Dan you can always add one later however you dont really wanna go drilling through the carbon then change your mind. Something i have considered is carbon dipped spoiler if the colour and pattern matches

I thought about the Carbon dipping route too...Im having a lot of stuff being dipped at the moment so ill be able to compare soon.

Its make or break with the spoiler im even thinking of just a subtle lip and a perpex strip.

Great pics there Ian - and from your ZX I reckon I like it miles better with the spoiler than without. LWB ZXs always look better with a spoiler IMO; and I reckon only the original 1990 or the 99-spec types are the ones to have!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

that is indeed the 99spec, and it looks fantastic in the flesh with it on, dont get me wrong i kinda got used to not having one, but soon as the 99spec is repaired and sprayed black, its getting mounted. (got cracks in it :( )

Bare in mind this was test fitting thats why there are baby wipes under the legs as it still had some sealant on that was trying to transfer its self to my paintwork and muck it up.

Looks better in the flesh than what the photos show, and yes i was the same, wasnt till LeoE popped his zed around mine with the 99spec spoiler on that i started to like them.

But i do like the 89spec, just dont think i want to lose my black strip to fit it lol

Im not a fan of the perpex strip thats what put me off the 99 spec normally as i also like the 89. Lol so much to think about.

Thanks for your help Vodkashots. Nice pics too :)

np matey, if you defiantly really absolutely must stick a spoiler on the back and dont like the perspex strip, get the 89spec looks so sexy with that on.

Spoiler!

I've never thought the zed suits a bare tail

i prefer the spoiler-less look.i took the oe spoiler off my lwb yesterday as the paint was cracking on it and it had soaked up so much water it was unreal and was rotting underneath. While it was on the floor a big puddle formed round it as all the water drained out of it!!!.thankfully the tailgate is solid as a rock underneath it,so going to get the holes welded and get it sprayed.have also removed the rear wiper so will get that welded as well and taken the steel counterweight off as well.have got a fibreglass copy of the perspex strip to go on as well.Since removing the spoiler etc ive noticed all the annoying rattles at the back of the car have stopped as well so another result as rattles p*ss me off!.

I think it would be a shame to spoil (excuse the pun!) that carbonfibre tailgate with a spoiler :)
