Having owned various 80s/90s Jap imports I actually find it a little odd the 300ZX never had a double DIN stereo as standard.

 

I've seen pictures of people's feeble attempts at modifing the centre console to fit one.

 

Who out there has done one they are proud of enough that they'll post up a picture..?

i haven't done the 2din .. but modded the console to do 1.5din

 

 

the problem u going to have is the Bar in the middle once this is cut i think it would be a bit bigger than

2din think if u did a bit off fiber glassing and filler it would look good after

Funkysi probably has the cleanest Double DIN stereo install, expecially in terms of OE looking fitment. He purchased his double pin panel from z32-zone in japan.

It looks like all the 2 DIN stuff on Z32-Zone is now out of production.

VVery very cool indeed! I looked into doing something like this a while back. The only thing I couldn't get my head round is makingit turn on and off with the car and when it turns on, go straight to playing music.

Had a few years now

I changed mine from the z32-zone product to the Zthirtytwo product. Here's how it currently looks.

 

you can buy them off the us ebay site, cheapest i found was at $180 shipped but thats through ebay directly if you have friends or family there they can ship it out cheaper
