springs

Are the springs dedicated?? i.e left & right only??If they are how do you tell which is which?

I'm asking because on fitting my Koni's on the front yesterday, I noticed that the front left spring on the shock appeared to be bent from top to bottom (off the car).

When I took the spring off the shock it seemed OK though. Anyway, I was replacing the springs with my spare set anyway and it appeared the same when all re-assembled. I was wondering if I should replace the top spring rubber mount & bushing?? Maybe not compressing the spring evenly due to wear??
