Did anyone else who bought the '300ZX' inserts from Smithy have a go at fitting them anywhere? I did mine today, quite happy with them, obviously no where near as good as the proper ones, but still look good, no pics of them lit up yet as I need a couple of inverters, any body got a couple?

Here ya go...

Nice job mate :-) dam we should have also done oem plastic sills on an exchange basis dohh

Zed sean used to have quite a few invertors for about a fiver each.

smithy

They look great regardless of not being lit up. Very tidy cutting there. :)

Would the invertors off the 99p cold cathodes you can get off fleabay do the trick I wonder?

Cheers, I roughly dremmelled it out, then filed the rest, lots of patience is required I tell thee! I've got 2 inverters from the cold cathodess from a couple of computer scanners (from another idea I had, was going to light up the rear number plate using one, would look great, bit too fragile tho), but they don't light them up unfortunately, so I'm going to put one in a little box with a battery, and a couple of metal prongs so I can zap my mates when I'm bored...

Edited by Tudor...

a lot better that than the stainless jobbies . they look tacky in my opinion and bolt on where as yours look standard .

You have done a nice tidy job there, very impressed.

I got some from Smithy but as yet no plans for them, I already have the Altia sills lit up in blue :cool3:

You know what, i think they look better than the stainless sills, nice job.

I agree aswell. they look sooo classy. I cannot wait to do mine now.

I've not seen these before - great job mate!!

If anyone decided to make these and sell as a complete unit, I would definitely be interested! Much prefer these to the stainless ones...

Cheers... A few of us bought them from Smithy a short while ago, unfortunately he only had a few, and has no more...

shouldnt be to much of a problem .. can use vinyl overlay ...

chris on the forum is doing the logo, text will only need the outer part of the two parts used .. this would give the same affect
