My car has been standing fo a coulple of years now whilst doing engine and tubs ect. So there i was trying to bleed the clutch and i started to get a pedal then went stiff just before pop, No fluid loss but pedal gone. Found that the slave cyliner has seezed and i think the peddal went hard then gone. I took of the slave cylinder of thinking that when i pump the peddal the fluid would pump out.but it just seats in the resivouir. So im thinking i must of poped the clutch master cylinder. Just this sound right. and any idear of a guide to remove master cylinder. Just had a go jesus got the wiring out the way, looks like a right pain job. any guides or better still anyone in norwich can do will pay to put right?

Yer i tried that but nothing, As i said even with the slave cylinder off i thought as i was pumping the pedal thenfluid would come out but nothing and it still seats in the resivior, unless ? do you need the slave cylinder on to create the pressure, cas if thats the case ill get a new slave cylinder first and try that.

Just fixed clutch problem i think most of the problems are with 20 year old master cylinder seals .Spent ages trying to bleed (1 litre of fluid) still air and bubbles in pot ordered a new piston kit from Nissan expecting a few seals but you get a complete replacement cartridge piston -spring -seals -clip .Youl find the old seal is worn and the cartridge will slide out easy this is where i think bleeding becomes a problem because there not enough vacuum in the cylinder .after fitting new piston kit it bleed first time .I have the part no for this kit its £25 from Nissan .Bit of a pig to fit master cylinder. Also fitted a new blue print slave at the same time works a treat now.

This happened to me tonight, first press of clutch fine, then a bit of play, then more play, then just a tiny bit of clutch at the bottom, parked up back at work, came out, tried it again, little bit of clutch and loads of play, first press 'pop'. Luckily I'm a mechanic so I pushed it into the garage, lifted it, tried bleeding, all the same symptoms as above, removed the master cylinder, and in the vice if I put my finger over the outlet and pushed the piston in, and instead of causing a vacuum under my finger it just blows and sucks through the reservoir, so the seals are goosed. Does anyone know of the part number for the refurb kit?

Cheers, Tudor....

Anyone? Had to drive it a couple of miles home with no clutch, and now she's stuck outside getting pissed on :(

Excellent, cheers mate, just rang up, 20 quid plus vat, gonna ring Mike up now see if he's got one, nissan can't get me one till tuesday....
