Wurring/Whining noise

I get this whining noise from the back end of the car at between about 80 and 90 mph.

 

It's difficult to locate the exact position of the noise ie if it's on a wheel side or from inside the diff somewhere.

    Is it a UK car? If it is then it could be the diff oil cooler pump coming on... I actually had this problem but it turned out to be the rear tracking - the toe in was set at 22mm and went through a set of rears in 1200 miles frown.gif

    My car is UK spec - I have no problem with excess tyre wear, it sounds more like a bearing type whine.

     

    My transmission whines a bit at slow seeds/low gears anyway but this noise is only epparent at those higher speeds in 5th
