mock up gearbox

Have been tinkering in the garage and was wondering if anyone has ever made a mock front end of a gearbox that would hold a atarter motor in place just to turn over a engine to do a compression test while a engine is out of the car.

 

Maybe cutting a broken gearbox up( grinding it off after front part). Then it could be bolted up to engine easily.

Or is there another way??. Ive got a powerfull sds drill but even that hasnt got enough guts in it to turn the front pulley cog fastenough to do it that way.
