Pretty sure I have these, theyre ok not as good as others but we were discussing this last night about dirty lenses. I think you can put better bulbs in later if you choose

Can the lenses be cleaned through the bulb holes .I was thinking of long cotton bud with thinners on it .Dont fancey splitting the headlights.

It can be yes, I've done it... bit of a ballache, and it's difficult to get into some of the corners!! I used a wire coathanger so I could bend it into the suitable shape to reach into corners.

How big a job is it to split the headlamps for a clean? Will they require new seals etc when reassembling?

its a pita fella as most of the time its a front bumper off job you have to either oven cook the lights to heat the sealant or sit there forever with a hair drier and prey you dont chip the glass when pulling them apart, remember not to take the sealent out as you can reheat and melt it to reseal it. if your gonna do it id buy a spare set of lights and clean and prep them instead and then just swap them over. Its much easier that way and you can take your time as you will need patience to do this.

Cheers, luckily I was just asking out of curiosity as it sounds a bit tedious

Think I got lucky with my £35 set of HID's of ebay... Had them 3 years now and touch wood no problems... They also came supplied with the slim ballast and made a massive improvement to the standard lights... I suppose anything is an upgrade over the standard candle in jam jar lighting on a Z!

i also have these ones, they are better than standard, big difference in visibility... also no problems so far....

I dont rate them. HIDs4U are the best ive seen/had but there £100

Don't have to take the bumper off just the indecator and nose cover four bolts one is a bit of a arse but the rest is easy I use a hot air gun on warm

and was very careful not a bad job to do if you have time and don't forget to put those little anti damp pills back in or it will mist up

Not just the quality but the light is also more intence :alien:

Not sure mine are exactly the same but I've got a set of £35 hids off eBay in both my cars. The set in my vectra I've had for about 4 years now. I did have to change the original bulbs cos they died after a year or 2 but not had any problems since. The set in my zed have been ok but one of them does sometimes appear to flicker very slightly (barely even notice it though). My mate has also had several sets in various cars and he hasn't had a problem with his.

So maybe he's been lucky or I've been unlucky but either way they make such a big difference that they are worth every penny IMO
