Yet another crazy venture ( 90TT )

Iam attemping to build a custom cold air flow induction system which requires the installation of 2 air flow sensors, Can anyone tell me how to wire them up and balance them, or if its even possible.

Cheers guys

If your Zed still has stock turbos and injectors it's a waste of time/money.

On stock turbos/injectors and 18psi of boost the AFM is reading 4.5/4.6Volts, which is 90% of it's capacity...so it's not even at it's max yet.

If you want to use 2 AFM's, the easiest way is to get an Apexi AFC to combine both signals into one that leads back to the ECU.

Other possibilities are an ECU reprogram or a MAP sensor instead of 2 MAF sensors

Correct it is stock apart from SE Boost upgrade think about 14Psi MAX, The reason I want to use 2 AFMs is because I want to seperate both cone filters and relocate them nearer to the front, This way I would loose the stock Air box and also the left/right connecting pipe connecting the stock AFM. From what Ive read on the forum's if you split the intakes then u must also use 2 AFMs. Is this the case???

I think the stock airbox and airintakes are a very poor design, hense the reason why Iam going to run 2 Direct cold air feeds, If what Iam trying to do is load of bollocks then let me know and I'll spend me money on Beer and pies insted.

Thanx

Dave

You don't need to run two air flow sensors - you can run one on one side only and then go for an ECU reprogram so the ECU knows that it needs to 'double' the signal.

JWT do a full setup for this, including chip.

Having said that, with your mods you don't really need it - it's only when you start getting to big turbos & big injectors that intake becomes a serious restriction.

Also expect a lumpy tickover with this setup - although some people seem to do better than others.

Its all sounds a bit expensive,

I think if i do away with the Induction and the injection system completely, and replace it all with 2 1 1/2Inch SUs from me 1275cc. now were talkin serious performance mods.Better MPG aswell

How did the honeymoon go m8y..

LMFAO

NoS this Info it 100% spot on !

Dont bother with the Dual intake unless you are going above 18psi just get a big single pop.

The AFC has a feed for a second MAS and can is quiet easy to use - altho not a comprehensive as something like a Emanage.

Which ever way you do you will need to go aftermarker tunable Fuel solution as no one does a bespoke ECU that accomodates two.

As Hairsy says JWT do a Dual cone intake where the voltage is double with a ECU progream to accomodate it !

At the end of the day it doesn't work out too expensive - A New MAS is serious cash and second had ones dont always come cheap ! + you will need the Fuel controller anywhere between 300 - 2K pounds !

Pesronally if you dont want to Do JWT dual Pop and really want to make your own - I would recommedn the AFC route - or Link / Motec if you can afford it !!!

Good luck and enjoy

Will have to do some more research on this one, dident think it was so major..

Sorry mr junior member NoS but if you are going to put jokey comments about you talking bollocks and spending money on beer and pies then please expect someone to find it funny.

If that wasn't the intention then keep it to yourself.

If you want a technical answer try not to be rude to the regular members for a start.

My next reply would have been along the lines of Lymons advice so don't think because I found a line of yours funny that I couldn't answer one of the most basic questions people ask on joining this forum. I'm sure we are all impressed that you have come to the conclusion that the stock airbox is a poor design but as there have been dual aftermarket intakes available since the launch of the Z in the distant past, you are a bit slow in your analysis.

By the sound of it you think you have just invented the wheel.

Instead of a dual-pop, try fitting a pair of your hard earned pies in place of the airbox and analyze that as you fuck right off matey!
