May Z seems to be rather harsh and and the suspension seems quite hard. I noticed a little turn pot on top of the strut and was wondering if this adjusted the damping rate?

ย

currently its set to 1, is this correct?

they are usually softness adjusters on the top if you can turn them with clicks, time to start testing. set it to half way and see if it improves the ride quality.

do you know what make your shocks are?

no, they were on the car when i brought it and thought they were stock with maybe lowering springs as the car sits quite low at the front

Post a pic and we can help a bit more, You should be fine with lowest or highest click on stock shocks, with adjustable coilovers you never set damping lowest or highest or the adjuster jams.
