Annoyed wit the converter

tried refitting this convertor forn the speedo,so i was trailing the how to bit and i noticed that there is another way to do it.With a different diode,now where would i look for the one that needs to be removed on the back of the clocks and does anyone have the one i need to replace it with if where would i get one from,

I have the speedo with 180km on the dial and my car is a 91
