Indicators on Jap import!

I have no indicators!

The headlight flash still works.

Is there a fuse? I've looked but can't see one.

The dash indicator display, doesn't work either! (I think)

Hi Mate,

A long time ago, I think it happened to mine.

I think there was a fuse in the footwell area that went. Don't quote me on it though!!!

Hmmm ... if it isn't a fuse (in the driver side footwell or under bonnet) then have a look at the following (it's a long shot though ...)

Check to see if the emergency indicator switch works. If it does then there is a chance that it isn't fully "disengaging" when switching it off. I recently messed with the A/C housing directly under the hazard switch and unbeknownst to me didn't put it all back together properly again. This meant that the hazard switch was slightly engaged but not enough to start blinking all four indicators. Once released everything was fine.

I know it's a bit of a long shot but it might be of some help to you.

Good luck,

Danny

CHECK THE HAZARD WARNING SWITCH.

ITS BEEN KNOWN TO CAUSE THE SAME PROBLEM.

LEIGH

I haven't got the hazzards connected, I'll try connecting them up and have another go.

I found a blown fuse (drivers side fuse box), I replaced it and indicators still never worked.

The fuse was a 20amp on the top row.

Should be a 10 amp fuse. Fourth from the left in the bottom row of the fuse box. At least that is the one in my car.

I plugged in the hazzard box and I now have indicators.

You learn something new everyday. I've learnt so much from taking that dash off, its really unbelievable!!

Thanks for the help!

Possibly for the future, you may like to know about this picture that appears in the Tech Stuff.

If the dash and rear lights do not light up then it is a 10 amp fuse in the top left of the fuse box behind the gas pedal. I have had this happen before.

If it is just the indicators (I assume blinkers) then there are relays on the front passenger under the bonett.

You could also try changing the flasher unit (under dash just above brake pedal) if all fuses are OK.

Mine went phutt and the indicators refused to flash.
