What do you guys think off this then:cool2:

Been thinking of selling raffle tickets on here for a £100 quid if I get more then 50 people then the raffle will go ahead, if not you get your money back:cool3:

I have not spoke to any mods yet but if this goes ahead I would like the club to hold onto the money not myself, this is to ensure that there is no way of taking money under false pretence [although I am very trustworthy]

The tickets can then be sent to you via the club or by myself, the only thing I have yet to fathom out is the "draw" how can this be done fairly so members who have purchased a ticket will not feel like its a fix when the ticket has been picked out of the hat so to speak.

So what do you rekon?

I doubt many people would be willing to splash out £100 for a 1 in 50 chance of winning to be honest.

Pretty sure you need to apply for a licence in order to run a raffle like that as well, remember someone getting in bother over doing the same thing with a house.

As mentioned I doubt people would be willing to spend £100 on a 50-1 shot of winning mate.

Not sure about this but I think you have to make it a competition, otherwise it's considered to be gambling. So, like all those Channel 5 competitions, you just ask "Who Manufactured the Z32 300zx ?" a) Renault, b) Nissan, c) Datsun ...

Good idea but I haven't got £100 to throw away

But if you won you would not be throwing it away

1-50 odds are pretty good in the scale of things

i think if you made it £50 and aimed to sell 100 tickets you would find it easier as moany more people will take a chance on £50 but a hundred nah.. and 100-1 is still pretty good odds.

Ok lets see if I Can get 100-1 :)

I'd say, reduce the 'competition entry' cost by even more than that

maybe £1-£5 and spread your net wider to incorporate all of the zed clubs/forums, but first off, make sure that it's legal to run a competition like this and secondly make sure that it's 100% transparent or you will no doubt get some disgruntled prat claim that it was rigged when I win it.....I mean, when somebody wins it :whistling:

Why do they make those questions so hard! :tt2:

I can remember when I was in the RSOC they had a raffle for a sapphire cosworth - £1 a ticket. Think they sold about 7000 tickets, so they were laughing, and so was the lucky person that won it for a quid.

I wouldnt pay £100 for a ticket, or £50. £5 maybe, £1 deffo.

Good idea I say, but yes I agree the price is a little high, but worth a gamble though, I`m in up to £100 :), £50 would be better though

Would it have to be people in the club?, could we get friends/ relatives to participate?

Problem is fella at £5 a ticket that's a lot of tickets to sale to achieve 5k and I just don't think we could drum up 1000 people to get this off the ground even if we spread it over both the clubs!

Daz I would be prepared to sell a ticket to any one who would be interested:cool3:

That's a good point actually, if friends and relatives can enter you'd find it easier to meet your target.

shame its not closer to JAE could sell tickets off the stand and do the draw at the end of the sat or sunday

would still be able to do that if he was willing to wait till JAE, would drum up some interest in the 300zx, could possibly get it in a mag as well, only problem id see with that, people would be expecting the funds raised to go towards a charity or something, not sure people would favour the idea of helping someone sell there car lol

I'll put my hand up as the charity... i need turbos.... and a manual conversion...
