Cat replacement pipes

Im thinking about doing away with the cats on my zed, has anyone done this on their zed?

Was the performance noticably better? Who would stock them? cheers guys.

Yep quite a few peeps have done this, only downside can be if your Turbo oil seals are weak then de-catting can exasperate the problem. I think Latzio had his blow with the car still on the ramps after getting rid of his cats?

Johnny at GPS 01942 671239 sells these pipes for roughly a few hundred squids mate! wink.gif

I just did mine - OH YES!! Should have done it earlier. Car boosts faster and car feels tighter on the road.

Yes, it's well worth it IMO. Much more quick spool up after the mod.

I have to agree that some people cause their turbo seals to leak without that cat back-pressure.

I was told that the Z Centre have decat pipes that also deal with the back pressure. Try them see what they say.

Don’t forget that if you car is newer than mid 1992 K upwards you may run into problems with the MOT. Mine in a J reg and I just had an mot with no problems.

Its not so much of having problems with your MOT. In theory it should still pass the emmisions test with the cats off and I dont know if the garage can tell if the cats are off. Pre K reg you can legaly take off the cats, if it's K reg or newer it is ILLEGAL to take the cats off the car.
