i h8 not being subbd..cant edit..

in this day n age of kindles n I.wotsits..books are gona be a thing of the past..but theyrs something about picking up a big load of paper whether its fiction or learning material i think is better than ebooks or tinternet dont get me wrong you can learn alot from google but books are better

i like to read book's like lenny mclean's the guvnor and hard *******'s, also read a lot of ghost, paranormal and crime book's

ive just found a book on old serial killer's that someone left in the bedsit's, havent read it yet but look's good

2 at the moment, mainly because I started one, (Roberts Ridge) and left it in the car when it went to Jimmers lol. It's about an American SF team that got shot down in Afghanistan.

So started on 'in the company of heroes' by Michael durrant. It's the story of the pilot shot down and captured in the film black hawk down.

Bit of a theme going on lol.

I don't read books much these days, the last book I read was a present from Rose for our journey back from NZ and it was the combined "World according to Clarkson", all three books in one, bought from Whitcouls in Auckland City. I have a subscription (Which I noticed on my bank statement yesterday has just been renewed) to Linux Magazine, but I barely get time to read it these days. :( I'm off to California for work again in a few weeks, 8 - 10 hour flight from Heathrow to LAX, so no doubt I'll get to read it then and I might read some more Clarkson if I can find the book again lol.

I hate reading. Even some of Alex post like above are to long and i just skip past them.

I skip past alot of posts

You've barely ever read anything I've written then :D I kept this short so you'd read it

I would add more pictures !!:whistling:

Good book that mate, I've got 2 copies on the shelf

Not sure if you've read these but 'Not a Good Day to Die' puts Roberts Ridge into context; the Mako teams playing a small but significant part in Op Anaconda

another one is 'Lone Survivor', which is very similar to Roberts Ridge, in that the SEALs get it wrong through no fault of their own, basically the US B20

or there's always the old favourite 'TF Black', very accurate account to be fair

I kept this short so you'd read it

Thats better. no need for the rest of the message

love terry pratchett books.

I tried my mates kindle when she went to the canary islands, she forgot her kindle that was at mine, so i had a good 2 weeks to play with it.

As much as its a cool device, i prefer a good old paper book.

Books ive read, almost all the terry pratchett disc world books

Dragonlance the chronicles (really should be made into a film)

The hobbit

Lord of the rings trilogy

The Rats

The Lair

Domain

The dark

Lots of books by Arther C Clark

How to program in Pearl

C++ programming

At the moment I'm re-reading Aggressor a Nick Stone novel by Andy McNab. I've also read just about every UK military history bio written although I'm always looking for ones I haven't read.

Terry Pratchett is another firm favourite as I love all the Discworld books.

Articles on safeguarding vulnerable children, context of nursing and loads of stuff from http://www.nmc-uk.org

Assignment deadline day Monday, still got 900 words to write as well as my referencing. EEK!:yawn:

I usually like the Iain Banks stuff tho, Complicity being my favourite

I'm not a big fan of military fiction stuff written by twedle dum and tweedle dumber if I'm honest, though 7 Troop is an excellent read

I would highly recommend that you read 'Freefall' by Tom Read mate (aka Nish Bruce ex B Sqn). It's not your usual run of the mill military/bio book, but in my opinion is possibly one of the best books ever written.

Try not to google or read up on the author before reading Freefall, just buy it, read it and then read 7 Troop straight afterwards

I can lend you a copy if you can't find it bud

I'll give that a read when I've finished aggressor mate :thumbup1: I've got a kindle so I just download them.

Have you read "First into Action"? It's one of the very few books about the SBS and it's a superb read.
