someone on another thread put up a site in japan, that has the beets abflug kit ive dreamed of, changed the currency to GBP and its coming in at just shy of 3k, ok add on import tax and fitting and spraying probably looking at around 5k - 6k in total.

Just wonder how much modifications to the original body work would be required to get it on the car. as mine needs the drivers sill welding before the next MOT, was wondering if it might be an idea to get that done, while i save for the kit and get that put on once all repair work has been done. that way i can get the spray job done at the same time as fitting, would just mean id have to drive around with a half complete car for a bit, but should be able to get it on the car by end of next year and ive always wanted that kit since i seen it. would go well with the abflug type 4 front bumper and at least id have a full abflug kit as well then.

wow, first time ive seen it on this zed, stunning. but i can agree though that the lower door filler needs to be modified slightly.

I kind of 90'ish% like the Beet kit, there's just something that doesn't seem right but I can't quite put my finger on it

maybe if the kit was continuous from front to back (ie. 20mm-25mm wider 'all' the way from front to rear rather than having that big gaping void on the doors)

not sure if that makes sense, basically I think I'd prefer it if the doors sat fluch to the rest of the widened body + flat base on the side skirts

would look a bit bland and boring then, plus you would have some strange line all the way down the door to allow it to open. (it already has them but as there is a "bit" missing, its only on two sections of the door)

its ok cooldel, i understand what hes saying, i know some people cant justify spending that kind of cash on a body kit.

I just think it suits the zed a lot better than most that are out there, but thats my own opinion. if it takes me 12 years (thanks dave ) then so be it.

anyway that post by gonzo reminded me of something.

LOL, that's ace, I love the first two paragraphs:lol:

Hi Vodkashots, I really like this kit and always wanted one!!

I have a mate who makes bodykits and can make a mould out of anything fibreglass, how does this sound..... if we could get enough members to chip in and buy this kit (say 6 people at £500 each) and then get my mate to mould it, he will then charge us say £300 for each kit (already spoke to him) for ourselves and then he keeps the mould for himself to trade with!

That way all 6 people get a 3k kit for under a grand

Just a thought!!!!

I'd rather pay full whack for a kit like this and keep it exclusive if it was me

what happens to the original kit? also, with import tax and duty, you would be looking at closer to 5k for the kit.

i have to agree with jaffa on this one, considering what happened to the twins design stuff when it was offered over here, id rather not be stepping on abflugs toe's in regards to their body kits.

also, again what would happen to the original, everyone who chipped in would have a right to have it on their car. how would we determine who should have such an expensive original kit on their car?

Its not as clear cut as it sounds.

As much as id like it to be cheaper, id also like the original kit and im sure that would go for everyone who chipped in.

The other thing is, twinsdesign stuff got ripped off over here, its taken quite a while for them to get around to offering anything up in the UK and rightly so, id hate to see japan look at England as a place where everything gets ripped off in the z32 scene so they stop importing or even selling stuff over here in relation to our cars.

So far ive only ever seen 3 abflug kits fully built on the cars, the blue, red and white cars in this very post, as far as im aware there isn't a abflug kit in the USA or in the UK yet, and to be the first with an original kit would be something special.

Hope you understand bud, im not trying to be a party pooper or anything.

That is absolutely fantastic and can be so true too. I'm really glad I met Rose, she does just about everything on cars that I don't and loves it, couldn't have met less of a dream killer :D

Ginger dwarves with 3 nipples should be drowned at birth 'cos they're just evil......that is all! :whistling:

Not that keen on it tbh mate, but not in the sense it repulses me, in the sense some angles it looks good and others it really really doesn't. Not sure what I'd do to it to change it either, as modifying a £5k kit would hurt like a bitch! lol Also, the white one from the side on, looks distinctly like a Ferrari.

For what its gonna cost you, You could probably pay dave to make you a custom kit based loosly on the abflug kit, this way its designed and built around or on your car will save alot of costs when coming to fit and paint and, would also give you and dave the opportunity to make moulds and resell a limited no to claw back some of the cost ;)

Surely part of it is having the first kit in the UK. Being unique is worth every penny. I reckon buy and fit it and don't let anyone copy iy LOL.

The whole point of going for this in my mind was because no body else would justify spending that much on the kit therefore I would have the only one. Talk of molds and reselling it just devalue it when you will end up with some crap zeds with it on with half job resprays and poorly fitted. that's the whole reason im but gonna go with a zcenter wide arch kit or anything that it likely people over here will get as the whole point is to be individual. Think I will be having the plans for my wide arch patented or whatever I need to do to keep grubby mits from copying it.

The white one is the shorty that was a custom kit that's why it looks good

Looks even better on a lwb

Everyone has different views on here about the zed. Everyone has their own dreams and how much money they are willing to spend. If you don't want to have those dreams of a show winning zed then fine by you. Im quite happy to drop 50k into my zed to complete it as I would never sell it I'd just buy something else if I wanted a new project. If voddy has them dreams then let him go for it and stop talking about it costs too much of cause it does if you want what no one else has or everybody would be throwing wide arch kits on.

I know when im done I will win shows and be top of the dyno board but hey its my money to burn I earn it. If you can't afford it then stick with what you have and support others not just put them down with your views cos you can't do it too much of that on this forum.

Good points made there, as you say everyone has different views. I wanted a close to oem look, so thats what I went for and I'm very happy with the results. Go for it vods mate will look awesome when done

i will, and its staying original. i thought about making a mold (but as ive never tried i doubt i would be able to) from scratch, but then i know it most likely would feck up some where, 2 years to get the kit isnt to far fetched, will give me time to get what i need too done to the car, only issues i can see with the kit are the front wheel arches with the vent in it, im sure in the wet all thats going to do is cake the door in road crap that gets kicked up from the front tires.

Hi thats kwl, I couldnt care who keeps the kit as long as i got one :walkman: it was just a thought obviuously I wouldnt want to upset anyone in the z32 scene!!

HAHAHA your taking the mick aint ya!!!

once its here, there will be no rush to get it on, so will take my time and get the molar together while hunting for a decent body shop, though i think i already have one that will do it, but need to ring up and check, if not got a few companies local that will.

my main concern would be getting the existing body sorted out first before sticking a large kit over the top of it.

I know a good body shop in corby. the lad rebuilt my mates RX7 what a job he did,he welded on a new front end, polished it all up,andpainted it back in and he is reasonable too

I prefer the red one, blue is way over the top.

Not really my thing - but I do agree that the red car is miles better. In fact, I would not be unhappy with the red car myself......

me suspect your getting japan mixed up with china that copy everything and anything.

what i meant was, its such a unique kit, id rather it didn't get ripped off, like what happened to the twins stuff. it came over here, got copied, then they decided that they didn't want to release anything in the UK due to fears of the same thing happening. im fully aware of that issue and would rather Abflug had the cash from the sale rather than the kit entering the country only to be copied to high heaven.

Also, look at the majority of the wide arch kits for the 300zx in the country, and almost all of them are the same kit and a bit paint by numbers if you understand what i mean.

i want a unique kit that not many have. given the fact there are only 3 other zeds with picture online showing them with the kit on, 1 of them is a one off SWB version and the other 2, one owned by Abflug / beets, the other unknown, id say its a pretty rare kit.

Rob, i think the first picture is a little misleading on how the kit looks. from other photos of the same car, it just looks very tasty indeed and that first image really doesnt do it justice.

I know of one in Aus that is fitting his at the min and has a few step by step pics :)

that would of a been a cheaper option, shame it went, though not surprising considering the price?

just a shame the info didnt stay on the ebaylink, would of been nice to see if it had been fitted and removed, or if it hadnt been fitted yet.

Ian it will look stunning when its on and finished ....you seem very much like me in that respect ..dogged determination to get exactly what you want ...i wanted a boulevard bruiser and late night cruiser .....think i hit the mark with what i was after .....when yours is done especialy if you go for a candy apple blue then it will be so unique and whats best is it will be yours

in all honesty matey, i think they should of left nissans factory looking like that lol

If it did i doubt many of us on here would be able to own a zed. I reckon it would be in the same price bracket as the NSX
