i have a clunk when i turn the steering wheel full lock to the right, only does it at very low speed, i have adjustable tension rods and ive had a good look, nothing looks like its shifting (no scrap marks at the bolts) no splits in the metal or anything around that area, so kinda just need pointing in places of what to look at. all the bushes look good. so its a case of "eh?"

not that, I've had both wheels off looking for the cause and it still does it even though the wheels are done up correctly. its been doing it for a while now, just never managed to track down the cause, only at slow speeds and when turning the steering wheel full lock to the right, does about 10th of a turn before the end of the travel.

its definitely the front of the car from what i presume is the passenger side. ive check to see if im fouling anything, but if the car isnt moving it doesnt make the noise, could it be drop links?

Give your two front wheels a good shake side to side back and forth and see if there is any play in any ball joints or worn suspension arm bushes.

Put it on full lock and check the coil spring positioning

Check your advisories from last years MOT

Those could give some ideas

Advisory mentions nothing about the suspension, was more to do with rust around the rear sill near the side skirt that needed looking at but the side skirt was covering it.

I thought it might be the brake pads sliding in the caliper as they need changing soon and not sure the last person to do them put the shims in.

i get no wobble at speed or anything like that, no clunking going over speed humps or bumps in the road, its only at low speed when parking up i get it.

I would say its a worn top camber arm. Almost impossible to check whilst everything is attached to it

i shall have a look then, easy to take off at least lol

i shall have a look see, most likely is, need to replace them with some adjustables anyway for when i lower it

go for a quick spin and jab your brakes on and off quite hard and you might be able to hear it as it will apply load on that joint.

i was looking at the housing associations list of what they find as anti social behavour, and.....

we expect you to treat your home, neighbours and local area with care and respect. This is part of your conditions of tenancy (the rules which allow you to stay in your home).

Examples of unacceptable behaviour include:

Noise nuisance

Intimidation or harassment

Domestic violence

Nuisance from pets and animals, including fouling of public and communal areas

Violence or threats of violence

Damaging or threatening to damage another person’s possessions or property

Behaviour that targets people because they are seen as ‘different’ in some way

Using your home for illegal or immoral purposes

Repairing vehicles in public areas

Unlawful tipping of rubbish/waste

Inappropriate use of public facilities

Vandalism and graffiti.

fookin hell, they could of told me before i decided to change an engine in the carpark  not sure how they class that as unacceptable behavior mind, it was definitely not anti social, it was more social as people came over to talk and have a chat, in fact i would of preferred it to be anti social so i could of got on and done it quicker with out all the interruptions LOL

lol yep

sorry going back to car.mad if its worn camber arm,, how does the caliper move? do you mean the brake caliper? i get a bit of clunking when i brake... Maybe its that and like you said it happens when im doing even 5mph... Cheers

worn tension rod rose joint almost for sure, rose joints were never intended for road use so pot holes etc wear them out in no time.Jack up the car and lever the tyre, youll be surprised, dont be worried about slight movement in the top arm bush as that is normal.Vosa put out a special notice around the time the 300,s started needing mot,s as testers were failing them when they were fine.

yeah it will move down a little when you brake. the hub and everything is attached to the top arm. so whatever play you have up top will be greater down below.

Dont you mean less as the axis is the lower balljoint ?

no on mine i had a bit of play at the top but the caliper moved about half an inch

yeah

The whole lot pivoted on the lower ball joint. tbh I only really noticed when the ksports when on because they had more bite.

Took me ages to find.

Well I still have this going to get the car in the air as it seems to be getting worse it's happening at 20mph when I brake now as well as turning

I had similar and it was my bottom ball joint... really hard to see it move... eventually i found it using a large screwdriver.... good luck...
