Hi guys,

Don't know who else garages their car over the winter?

I usually do this with any performance/classic cars I own, just to keep them in good order away from all the salt/grit and the worst of the weather, which can be bad where I am.

This year I seem to miss the Zed like mad, using an MG ZR 1.4 as a daily driver which is painful as it's so bloody slow!

Due to the ever increasing amount of grit on the roads and it being wet, the Zed probably won't come back out to play till March/April time, just see how the weather goes.

Can always fire it up and listen to it burbling away I suppose hehe.

Sorned mine from 1st Nov, left it on the drive until mid Dec then I made room in the garage, got the engine fully warm and put it in there about a week ago.

With some drive messing, in and out of it etc, I did flatten the battery, so this was removed and trickle charged, so on the day when I put it in the garage I clamped on the booster direct to the leads and fired it up, no problem here, with it running I then removed the booster thinking it would die and it carried on running :confused1: I even used the brakes and lights with no battery or 12v supply, surprised me did that as I thought you needed something there :confused1:

In the new year it will be having engine out for some upgrades, so no rush, with a view to getting 6 months Tax on the 1st April 2012 then this will cover September's JAE :cool3:

Yes I do miss it but knowing it is relatively warm and certainly dry pleases greatly, also it isn't costing me anything

I try not to use the car for mundane stuff - but there was no way I was driving to scotland (where I am now) in my Clio. Took the car for a spin this morning, was just thinking to myself how nice it was. Obviously you can't give it full beans in this weather, but even at 50% it's still a lovely car to drive.

Picked my old man up on the way up here - my dad quite enjoys a trip in the zed too. He was a bit bemused how quickly we managed the journey, despite the zed not breaking sweat. Just a great, relaxed cruiser.

Roll on spring though, bit of sunshine would be nice!

I,ll be SORNing mine at the end of the week , gonna try and get a bit of use out of it if the weather holds out before then , give it a good wash and tuck it away for a few months till the weather breaks in the new year , by fook i,m gonna miss driving it , the old Volvo ( daily drive ) just doesn,t quite cut it !!:crying::crying::crying:

You do miss it when its garaged but as mine is still taxed I take it out for a blast on a good dry day and that puts a smile on your face:biggrin:

Same as me there Gary. I have just taxed mine for 12 months so I'm certainly still going to take it out at weekends....

Richard:cool3:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
