hicas

my hicas light comes on and stays on after about five mins. its not my power stearing fluid level what can it be. had car for over a year now it has always happend..jap import,T.T auto.

Is your steering wheel offset at all when you're heading in a straight line ? If so this can upset one of the sensors. You may need to remove it and replace it a notch or two further round the splined shaft.

make sure there is no air buble in the system.

when was the fluid las changed?

Does it only happen when you've been running on a long straight road(eg motorway)? If so it's the steering wheel off-centre. Otherwise it could be a number of things....

my power steering is erratic, sometimes hard to steer sometimes easy.

the hicas codes are as follows:

1. one v long flash

2. four small flashes

3. one long flash

4. two small flashes

5. two long flashes

6. one v long flash

 

please could anyone reply with the correct results,

Have a look in the online manual. Page ST-75 would be a good start.

thanks for that had a look tried the hicas again this time i drove the car for a bit under 5 mph got a new reading:

 

1. one v long flash

2. seven small flashes

3. one long flash

4. one small flash

5. one long flash

6. one v long flash

 

still cant work out what they are

please could anyone reply with the correct results,
