Ambient temp sensor

On my way home tonight the ambient temp dropped from 1 to -21 im guessing is i dont have frostbite its a faulty wire / sensor.

 

Can anyone tell me do i need to remove the front bumber to get to it or can i do it with the bumber in situe?/
