It was my favourite 300 before i got mine. Saw it at JAE 2006 (i think, although i dont think it was at billing).

Anyway, i cant remember his name and its doing my head in and ive searched for ages on here.

It had a paint job like tizers blue snake skin effect?? but it was redish at the front and faded to black at the back. Huge wing on the back, maybe 4 or 6 pot rear lights, shark front bumper and it just looked awesome.

Anyone know what im talking about and point me in the right direction of some pics?

Thanks

Perhaps it wasn't the government and the police that killed the british car scene and made it so the car shows are now shit compared to what they used to be after all, maybe it was people with comments like this? The car might not be to everyones taste granted, it's not something I'd do myself necessarily, but come on, it's really well done, that paint job alone is awesome, attention to detail on that car (Never saw it in the flesh granted) looks insane.

What is it with some people, that a car which changes from it's original design too much for their liking is considered crap, or inferior some how? Before we went to NZ the car scene in the UK and specifically Doncaster was MASSIVE, now, there are no audio shops here, no show, no cruise, no local club meets, you don't see modified cars floating around anymore, there's nothing Lairy out there anymore, it's boring! BORING I TELL YOU!

Roses celica was Marmite too, you either loved it or hated it, because it was extreme, but the simple fact is, at the time, no one could call it boring. When did owning and modifying a car become BORING!? I've always had pretty powerful, but relatively subtle cars, the GTR wasn't heavily modified looks-wise, nor was the Supra, nor the scooby, etc. But I did appreciate going to things like modified nationals or Donny show, to see the level of crazy that people can go to, not to mention the quality of the workmanship that goes into something like that, who cares if I wouldn't build it that way, are we all supposed to drive the same boring old cars that look the same, are the same colour, with the seem "acceptable" wheels and bits of trim? I may as well burn my car now and forget about it, lol.

Each to their own, I was just expressing my opinion on the car.

I think comments like ours are becoming more common because modifying trends have moved on. Tacky bodykits and lairy paintjobs (no matter how high the quality of the workmanship) have gone out of fashion in favour of smoothed bumpers and less blingy wheels (or OEM+). When I drive past my local cruise it's just a busy as it ever has been, but with more modded jap cars (200sx's, RX-7's etc...) and less lairy bodykits on clapped out old Novas. Look at Max Power, it was full of those types of cars and doesn't even exist anymore! Or compare the cars in the first Fast and Furious movie to the last to see how trends have changed.

It's like when you look at photos of yourself as a teenager and just wonder what the hell you were thinking. At the time it was cool as that was the trend, but fashions change...

People are allowed opinions too and shouldn't be forced to keep that opinion to themselves. Whats so wrong with speaking out?

Rofl, should have added a disclaimer to that, was just a rant, not telling either of you to shut up, lol sorry. :D

I have been goung to the Donny show since it was a custom car show and sponsored by Street Machine :whistling: I can assure you I love modified cars and applaud anyone who spends time and effort on their cars. HOWEVER I think the one above is poorly done and has ruined what is a great car.

I probably would've burnt that car out myself to raise Z values.

That thing was an abomination, good riddance.

You're not alone there, I started going when I was very very young, my uncle used to take me when I was little.

I can't see what everyone sees as an abomination on it tbh :confused1: I mean sure, I don't like Veilside kits on Z's, but with the paint job it almost looks alright tbh, I'm not keen on the stuff he did on the bonnet, but it's artistic at least, I have to give it that and I'm not a huge fan of chrome wheels, but those are not too bad. As I said before, I never saw this one in the flesh and it's not exactly my idea of 'nice' but in the pictures it does look like it was well done and plenty of attention to detail, I don't see what's so repulsive, lol

The paintwork isn't the problem, heck i can ALMOST tolerate the tail lights.

But the wing the bodykit, and wheels with the monster truck ride height.

Each to thier own.

The 300zx is a beautiful car, but if you want to make it ugly there are people who will help you.

lmao yeah I forgot about the tail lights, not really my cup of tea either, although I've seen some well done ones, usually using the rear lights from a fiat coupe tbh. I hadn't noticed the ride height, but with a Veilside kit I'm not surprised about that, it wouldn't get far without being high with that bodykit, obviously I've already said about not liking the Veilside kit, but the spoiler isn't TOO bad. We have a similar one (Note I said similar, it's better looking) going on our grey one.
