... I can't go over 4.5k RPM. It just stops everything, and it cut out on me when it was at a junction selecting from 2nd gear to drive. Is there anything I can do without a remap, as I was planning on taking on a dyno to see the numbers and air to fuel ratio. It's more than likely lack of fuel, but I'm hoping that the ECU might relearn the settings. When they were initially fitted, revs were erratic but I never went over 2.5k RPM until yesterday.

Any advice on this would be superb :) Thanks x

limited revs sounds maf related, although the erratic idle could be an air leak, id check both.

is it revving over 4.5 if done slowly or does it always cut at 4.5?

because if its not boosting having larger turbos shouldn't cause lack of fuel...

You must have a leak or summit somewhere, those tubs are only tiddlers and no we don't have any fuel or boost cuts and nor would a re map be required for those turbo's.

Well, tonight I tried again and I got 5.5k RPM safely, and I could hear it popping a little. I'm trying to get a time sorted to visit my local Nissan garage to plug a Consult in and see if any faults are listed, perhaps it can tell me something.

Going to a dyno this weekend, and that should shed some light on the air/fuel ratios. Is there any kind of adjustment with the wastegates on the Z32's? A friend said 200SX's had them stock.

I aint an expert but something I read only yesterday about the actuator opening setting.....

'If you have a T25, I suggest setting the actuator to open around 12-13 PSI if you want max power and good durability. 14 psi is the ceiling on a T25, and at 15 you risk damage to the motor and the turbo is officially out of its efficiency range'.

So how would I do that? I don't do the work myself, but I'm not sure the garage is good with performance stuff.

Z32 actuators are set from the factory. The rod is not threaded for adjustment.

Well as far as taking your zed to a nissan dealer do not waste your time! Most likely will not have fully compatible diagnostic knowledge  anyway if it is air leak related it needs different checks.

All well documented in the search system look for boost or air leak checks.

Hey Jeff,

Well I used to work for them, and I phoned them to see if they had it and they said they did. At my current works, we do have a Snap-On Solus Pro, so I'm trying to find time to see if I can pull the A/F ratios off there. Before they were fitted I could hit the limiter no problem, although the o/s turbo was progressively getting worse, so I can't really see it being an issue with coil packs. After Christmas I'm going to give it a new set of plugs though, and it's had 4 oil changes in 200 miles already! LOL.

Were the turbo's fitted with the engine left in or out?

pretty sure the Z32's not listed on the solus :(

Initially it was with the engine in place. On the n/s turbo he couldn't reach one bolt, so he had to drop the engine out.

I'm not sure if they done anything with the wastegate actuators, but Kinugawa Turbo had these on before me, and I guess it would have been left at the same settings as what he had.

I don't want to go back to them without knowing exactly what's wrong first, because they done me a huge favour with the job at only £500 labour, and it was on the ramps for 2 weeks.

While they've removed it, they've done something with the blowers so it doesn't work at all. It's a '91 electronic thing, but with any setting theres no fan at all. There is heat coming from them though. He did say that he didn't remove the unit, but it could just be a plug or something. It's just really cold, and I have to drive with the window down if I don't want it to fog up :(
