Just getting the exhaust on my Z and have gone blank on how the exhaust mounted by where the gearbox crossmember is.

 

There is a big u shape bracket off the back of the gearbox with holes in it, but the rods from the exhaust are at the same height so i cant see how i could put a rubber piece on each one like the rest of the exhaust mounts at the rear of the system.

 

Anybody got a picture of how it mounts up? i suspect i need another bracket or something but would have no idea what i'm looking for.

my complete exhaust is hung by the down pipes and the brackets at the back where the bumper is, and it doesnt move for anything or sag. if its done up tight, it shouldn't move.

Yeah i wouldn't be fussed with it being like that, but the certifier would throw it back if it had the mounting rods without them mounted to something.

 

I managed to find a diagram after much google'ng

 

 

20220N is what i have to now go and find amongst my boxes and mounds of Z parts... i know i've seen them, uhhhh somewhere :pinch:

Not got a pic of the end of the box, but these are what you need, I have 2, but they don't marry up with my japspeed downpipes, but with me having OCD, I WILL make them fit. Took me about 18 months to find someone on here that I could buy them off second hand tho, seems mostly they get removed and lost...

I had the same problem, ocd or not you wont get them to fit without extensive reworking. It's much easier to cut off the hangers on the centre section. Once the exhaust is all bolted together it's solid.

I wonder who told you that steamy;)
