At the front, in front of everything else basically. In the middle, under the number plate. The gearbox oil cooler on the other hand, on an auto is in the radiator, on a UK manual it's behind the box somewhere under the chassis, not sure if that's the same for a JDM manual or not?

Well you learn something new every day! I also didn't even know there was a gearbox cooler for the manual either. It's driving me mad not being with my car and being able to pop out and have a look at things when I see them mentioned on here :headvswal

I know that feeling bud :D

With an aftermarket cooler? Not sure. I know mine usually takes 4 - 4.5 depending on how well I've drained it, so assuming yours is currently bone dry, including nothing in the cooler etc. 4.5 - 5 litres probably?

i always check the dipstick by

1. letting the engine cool down for several hours

2. take dipstick out and wipe it

3. place dipstick back in making sure not to twist it about

4. remove dip and check oil level, all the way round the dip. the lowest mark should be taken as the proper level.

hope this makes sense
