hey guys, my gf Clutch release has just gone about 5 mins ago right outside my house. pretty sure its the release bearing, been squakin for ages. ive ordered a new clutch kit, but ive not changed one on these before, its a v reg pug 106 1.1.

 

threres still tension in the pedal, its just not connected lol,

 

anyone know how to do this job and can you walk me through it?

is it essential that i have a clutch alignment tool?

 

all i have is a halfords socket set,hammer,crowbar. jacks and axle stands lol. i predict stressful times ahead

i made a clutch alignment tool, all it needs to do is hold the clutch plate in place while you put the clutch housing over it and bolt it to the fly wheel.

 

with my zed i used a socket that was just big enough to go into the crank hole, and then electrical tape around a break caliper piston pusher (not sure on the exact name lol) until the clutch plate would sit on it central. worked a treat.

haha, well she did say shed make it up to me, but then i sed dont worry about it, its how we met, she had a mg zr, her sis....my best mates gf, told her to come see me, she turned up at mine , never seen her before, with her bf. i fixd a 'broken headgasket' with a new set of plugs lol. he sed garage sed head gasket was gone, i asked him, did you go into the garage and say, ' my headgaskets gone'? he goes yea, i sed well of course theyd say that lol.

im hopin i can do it with wat ive got or can improvise with. she works in a hosp so i kinda need it done nice and smooth problem free lol yea right

thanks for that piccy, i think i cud manage to make sumin like that, i mit have a bit of bar or a long socket extension around that i can tape up,
